What will my child learn in this course?
Skills taught in the course focus on keyboard performance, listening, pitchmatching, keyboard technique, singing, rhythm, movement and music appreciation. Children will play pieces at the piano throughout each level.
Why do you offer group lessons?
This approach is very effective as young students enjoy the interaction with peers. Children can inspire and encourage each other. It is also motivating for kids to see someone their size doing something they like to do too.
I don't have a musical background. How can I help my child at home?
Encourage your child for their efforts. At home, you could look through the books with your child. Discuss the pictures, read the brief stories to him/her and listen to the compact discs together as a family. Playing the CD that comes along with the course in the car or playing it while the child is doing another quiet activity like puzzles or artwork will help to reinforce ear training.
Four students per class with a piano for each student. Children are grouped according to age and ability based on a pre-evaluation.
Piano Class for ages 4-5
Music for Little Mozarts, the premier piano education program for children ages 4-5, provides a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the piano and the enjoyment one receives from the process of music making.
Classes meet once a week for 45 minutes during the fall and the spring semesters. They are 17 sessions per semester.

Piano Classes for ages 5-6
Classes are structured for 5 and 6 year olds. This piano class introduces directional pre-reading, elementary music theory and technique with engaging songs games and creative discovery at the keyboard.
My First Adventures Classes may be started at anytime throughout the year.
